Is there any tool can help me to convert DVD to H.264? I need to do this for playing my DVD movie on my iPhone.
To convert DVD to H.264 and enjoy the digital videos on iPhone (or iPad, iPod etc.), you need a professional program to be your helper. I highly recommend you this DVD Ripper for Mac here, which can do the DVD to H.264 conversion on Mac (Snow Leopard, Lion included) without losing quality and finish the task as simple as 1-2-3:
Note: Though H.264 is the standard Apple's backing over Flash for video on the web and the H.264 videos are accepted by all of Apple products like MacBook, iPad, iTunes etc, it is only a codec. So if you choose the unmatched output format and the supported codec—H.264 here, you still can't play the videos. Please make sure what format your device or site support firstly if you can't find the default setting for your device or app etc.
Load the DVD files to the Converter
For this part, you can click the "Load DVD" button, and open the DVD folder you want to rip, then select VIDEO_TS folder and click OK.
Note: The defaulted setting allows reading main feature of the DVD movie for the DVD to WMV conversion. If you want to import the whole DVD, go to "Preference" and uncheck "Load main title of the DVD".
Choose MP4 as output format and set H.264 as codec
Choose a compatible output format like MP4 and set H.264 as your codec from the format list. Other output formats are provided by the converter. But if you are about to play DVD videos on iPad, iPhone, iPod, PSP, Xbox etc., you can just select the format according to the device name. The default setting works well.
Start DVD to H.264 conversion on Mac OS X
Hit the button of "Convert" and leave this smart DVD Ripper for Mac to do the rest for you! The converter also works on MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac.
In addition, you can edit the DVD movies before the Mac conversion by cropping, trimming, merging or adding effect, see more in DVD Ripper for Mac User Guide and Tutorials.
