Have a new iPhone (or other iOS devices) and wanna create some contacts, recover your old contacts on your iPhone, or back up the contacts etc.? Here is the User Guide of iOS contact:
Add contact
Go to Utilities folder on your iPhone screen and tap on Contacts to open the app. Press the plus button at the right top corner of the screen then enter the contact info.
You can customize ringtone -> choose the ringtone you want -> Save. (More tips: create iPhone ringtones with any songs.)
Add more info
When enter general contact info, you can tap on Add Field and to add more information of the contact including nickname, job title, department, twitter, birthday, related people and more.
Sync contacts
Sync Mac contacts or other iOS contacts
Via iCloud: if you have some iCloud backups from your Mac (Windows computers excluded) or other iOS devices, you can log in your iCloud account on your new iPhone and restore your contacts. (More tips: How to back up Mac contacts via iCloud.)
Sync Google contacts (Yahoo! included), you have two options:
Via iTunes: plug your iPhone into your Mac (or Windows computer) and open your iTunes, then click on your iPhone’s name on the left sidebar of the iTunes and click Info tab. Now you will see an option like the image below, tick on “Sync Address Book Contacts” and choose “Sync Google Contacts” or “Sync Yahoo! Address Book contacts” or both of them.
Note: To sync your contacts from Google (or Yahoo!), you need to log in your Google account first.
Without iTunes:
Sync Google Contacts with iOS devices without iTunes
Note: If there are some same persons in multiple contacts, these contacts under the same name will be linked and displayed as a single contact: to link a contact, you can tap on Edit button, the tap plus button and choose a contact. And the linked contacts aren’t merged so if some information in a unified contact has been changed, the changes will be copied to each source account where the contact located, i.e, if you have a unified contact, with phone info from Google contact and address info from Yahoo! Address Book, and once you change the phone number in the unified contact, the original Google contact will be changed at the same time.
Sync contact from a SIM card
You are able to sync contacts stored on your SIM card to your phone: Go to Settings and scroll down to Mail, Contacts, Calendars then tap Import SIM Contacts.
Back up contacts
To back up your iPhone contact, and if your iPhone runs iOS 5, you are able to use iCloud to do so: log in your iCloud: go to Settings -> iCloud -> Enter the info of your Apple ID to sign in and switch on Contacts backup.
