iMessage is a new feature of iOS 5 which enables you to send text, images and video messages to other iPhone, iPod and iPads running iOS 5. These iMessages aren’t counted in your carrier’s messaging plan. And here are some tips make your iMessage far better:
Seeing read
There is an option named Read Receipts which you can turn on so that your iMessage will send you notes when your recipient has read your message. The Read Receipts feature is off by default. The iMessage can also indicate the moment your imessages’ve been send. And if the recipients set the Read Receipts on, too, you can even know the moment that your messages have been read.
Have noticed that or not? To use the feature, there are two things required:
1. You and your recipients all need to have iDevices running iOS 5.
2. The Read Receipts is required to be turned on both on your own iOS 5 device and on your recipient’s iOS 5 device.
How to turn on Read Receipts:
Go to Settings on your iPhone (iPad or iPod), scroll down to Message, switch on iMessage and sign in with your Apple ID if you haven’t logged in yet, then you will see an option of “Send Read Receipts”, slide on it.
Direct Address
After the set of Read receipts, you will see “Receive At …” option, tap on it to set an email address or more which you’d like to receive your iMessages to. If you have multiple email address, you can configure all iMessages sent to those email addresses point to you.
Using this feature, you can read messages from whatever email accounts via iMessage, and there is no need for you to log in each mail to check out your messages.
See some ID
After you set the email address in the Receive At settings, you will see an option named Caller ID. This ID will be attached in every iMessage sent. On your iPhone, the caller ID can be either your phone number or your email address linked to your iMessage account. Email address is highly recommended, because if you use your iPad, you can’t receive your iMessages which are sent to your iPhone number on your iPad.
