With your iOS device, say, iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, it’s quite easy for you to find some place you want to go but don’t know how: there is a built-in Map app provided. Using the Map app, you can easily find the location, the way and the surroundings. Here is what the app looks like:

To use Map to find your destination, connect your iOS device like iPhone to the internet and enable the iPhone location services first.
Tip: To activate your location service, go to Settings -> Location Services -> Switch it on.
Find a location
you can enter the keyword of the place in the Search field. Anything related can be entered for the task, such as Intersection, Area, Landmark, Zip code, Business. Even you can tap
on the location on a contact to find the place.
Note: The Map is based on the data services. And these data services may be not available in some areas so that the result of maps, directions, or location-based info may be unavailable, inaccurate, or incomplete.
Get directions:
You are able to get directions in the Map app by tapping the Directions and tap
and choose the location in bookmarks, a recent location or a contact to enter the starting and ending locations. Then tap on Route and choose directions for your drive or walk. After that, you can: View directions one step at a time: choose Start and tap the arrow to see the next step of your drive. Or view all directions in a list: you can tap
then select list. You can read a map by tapping any item in the list to see the detailed info. To return the overview screen, tap Route Overview.
Showing traffic conditions
To get acknowledged the traffic conditions on major streets and highways on your trip, you can tap on
and choose Show Traffic or Hide Traffic.
Here is the color code on the map:
- Gray—no data is available
- Green—posted speed limit
- Yellow—slower than the posted speed limit
- Red—stop and go
You are also available to get satellite view and street view:
Satellite view or hybrid view: tap on
and choose your view.
Google Street View: tap on
and flick left or right to get 360° panoramic view.
