Upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard

Apple's latest released operation system Snow Leopard is now available for preorder for develivery on August 28. Refined from installation to shutdown, snow leopard provides Mac users a better experience, making your Mac faster, more reliable, and easier to use. Significant innovations or refinements in this operation include: a more responsive Finder; quicker Time Machine backup; another leap forward for QuickTime; innovative Chinese character input, faster, more powerful Safari etc.

This upgrade is only for Intel-based Mac. So if your Mac has a PowerPC processor, it is not compatible with Snow Leopard. Intel-based Mac users can order upgrade either from Apple's official website or Amazon, which is the first to offer preorder for Snow Leopard.

Tips: How to determine the type of processor of your Mac?

1. In the Finder, go to the Apple menu in the upper-left corner of your Mac and choose "About this Mac"

2. In "About this Mac" window, you'll find the version and the processor of your Mac.

Mac OS X v10.5 (Leopard) users can upgrade their Mac by purchasing Mac OS X Snow Leopard for $29.

For Mac OS X v10.4 (Tiger) users, they can get this upgrade by purchasing the Mac Box Set, which includes Snow Leopard, iLife '09, and iWork '09, for $169.

Mac users who purchased a qualifying computer or Xserve on or after June 8, 2009 that does not include Mac OS X Snow Leopard, you can upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard for $9.95.
