"How do I uninstall MacKeeper?" "Is there any ease way for me to get rid of MacKeeper?" Many people ask how to uninstall MacKeeper, because the early versions of MacKeeper itself is hard to remove although it claimed to be a good uninstaller. MacKeeper is actually a system toolkit for your Mac. With utilities like cleaner, uninstaller, antivirus, data encryptor, and file recovery, your Mac is secured, clean and running fast. Your data is fully protected by password or if deleted or formatted, you can recover data on Mac quickly.

However, the uninstallation of MacKeeper is not straightforward. You can not find Quit command, which make you think that it can not be removed. No worry! This article will show you how to delete MacKeeper completely from your Mac (macOS Sierra included), whatever its' the latest version or those early versions.

MacKeeper Alternative: Safely Recover Your Lost Data

MacKeeper can help you perform file recovery if you've deleted your files accidentally. But MacKeeper scans lost files too slow and sometimes can't find your lost files. How to Uninstall MacKeeper Completely (for the Latest Version)

Now the latest version of MacKeeper comes with an uninstaller so you can easily remove MacKeeper in a few clicks. If you can't find it, try the second method.

1. Close MacKeeper by clicking the X button at the top left corner.

2. Go to Applications folder and drag MacKeeper.app to the Trash or use Command+Delete on your keyboard.

uninstall mackeeper

3. Click "Uninstall MacKeeper" in the popup dialog.

uninstall mackeeper

How to Uninstall MacKeeper Completely (for Old Versions without Uninstaller)

If there is no uninstaller for MacKeeper on Mac, all the processes started with MacKeeper will be still working even though you've dragged it to the Trash. In such case, the alerts will keep showing up and you cannot even delete it. To fix this problem, just restart your Mac and then empty the Trash.

By the way, you can rely on other safer uninstaller to uninstall MacKeeper fully. AppCleaner is recommended: http://www.freemacsoft.net/AppCleaner/.

If you are still having the issue, I found that if I just restart my Mac it was just sitting there in the trash. After I clicked on it, the uninstaller came up and allowed me to finish with the removal.
