How to Use iSkysoft Data Recovery

iSkysoft Data Recovery offers 4 recovery modes to retrieve data lost due to different reasons. iSkysoft helps you to recover lost data from your computer's drive, USB flash drive, external hard drive, memory card, digital camera, cell phone and many other devices. Please read the guide to learn more.

Note: You can't install the application on the original drive from which your data was lost to avoid data overwritten. If you want to recover files from an external storage device, you need to connect it with your computer.

Wizard Recovery Mode

Wizard Recovery mode is the most simplest way for you to get back lost data. If only requires you to answer 2 easy questions and the recovery process will be finished automatically.

Launch iSkysoft Data Recovery on your Windows computer and Wizard Mode will be displayed in the screen. Click the "Next" to continue.

Then you need to select file types you need to recover.

Please answer "Where did you lost your files" by selecting options in the window.

CLick "Start" and the program will start detecting your lost data. You can also "Enable Deep Scan" to get a better scanning result.

After sanning, found contents on your device will be shown in the window. You only need to mark files you need to recover and click the "Recover" button to save them to your Windows computer.

Lost File Recovery

"Lost Data Recovery" mode helps you to recover lost data due to accidentally deletion such as "Delete + Shift", emptied Recycle Bin, file corruption and more. Turn the program to standard mode and then select "Lost File Recovery" mode.The window will appear like the image below.

You can select the drive from which you want to restore data from and clich the "Start" button to start scanning.

When the scanning process is over, found contents on your drive will be displayed according to "File Type" and "Path". You can preview images or document files before recovery. To recover your lost files, mark the files in the list and click the "Recover" button to save files tothem selected path on your computer(not to the drive where you lost files, external storage device is highly recommended as the selected destination.) .

Partition Recovery

Select "Partition Recovery" in the window and the program will show all physical drives on your computer. Select your desired physical drive and click "Next" to begin scanning partitions on it.

Then the lost, deleted partition will all be shown in the window. Check the partition you need to recover and click "Start" to scanning files on it.

After scanning, please mark data you need to click the "Recover" button to finish data recovery.

Raw File Recovery

"Raw File Recovery" mode is similar with "Lost File Recovery" mode, but it scannis the logical structure rather than folder structure of your drive. It shows files according to file signitures without original names and folders.

Select "Raw File Recover" mode and partitions on your computer will be displayed. Select a partition and click the "Start" button to begin scanning.

There're two scan options for you to choose from: "For All Files" and "For Deleted Files".

The scanning takes longer time than other recovery modes.

When then scanning is complete, check the files you want and click the Recover button to save them to another drive on your computer or external storage media.

Resume Recovery

One of the greatest features of iSkysoft Data Recovery is that you can save the recent scanning result and use "Resume Recovery" mode to input the saved result for future scanning.

Please keep in mind that Resume Recovery doesn't allow you to resume scanning from where you left last time. If your lost data are not found, you have to scan your device again.
