Layout Panel
FilmoraPro has a customizable and consistent workspace alongside a Layout Panel that allows users to choose the preview settings for all of the video clips that are placed on the timeline. You can customize your workspace as desired using the available controls. You can also optimize the layout panel as per the specific tasks that you intend to perform.
Orientation
Using the orientation controls in the upper left corner of the panel, you can flip or rotate the video clip for changing its orientation.
- Mirror Vertical – Flipping the vertical axis. The orientation of all the video clips can be changed vertically at once by using Mirror Vertical.
- Mirror Horizontal – Flipping the horizontal axis. The orientation of all the video clips can be changed horizontally at once by using Mirror Horizontal.
- Rotate Counterclockwise – You can rotate the video 90–degrees counterclockwise each time by clicking on the counterclockwise rotation icon.
- Rotate Clockwise – You can rotate the video 90–degrees clockwise each time by clicking on the clockwise rotation icon.
Anchor Points
If you want to adjust the size of your video clip, Anchor Point is exactly what you are looking for.
On the Controls panel, you can click on "Anchor Point", the video clip on Viewer will be framed by several dots, you can drag any one of them to scale the video clip optionally.
Other than that, on the Layout panel, there are 4 boxes on the right: X, Y, Width, Height. X and Y boxes stand for the horizontal and vertical axis, and the Width and Height values stand for the pixels of the size.
And you can see a dotted line square below the Mirror and Rotate icons where you can select one of the dots to lock the value of X, Y, Width or Height of the video clip, then adjust the size of the video clip or change its position on Viewer.
The default link icon on the right means that the width and height of the clip can be scaled together, you can unlink them by clicking the icon.
Alignment
The alignment and distribution option is located at the lower section of the Layout Panel and they help the user to reposition the selected assets. Users can either choose to align either to the right, to the left and center
Align to: Timeline
- Align Horizontal Left – Put the clip against the left edge of the frame.
- Align Horizontal Center – Horizontally center the clip within the frame
- Align Horizontal Right – Put the clip against the right edge of the frame.
- Align Vertical Top – Put the clip against the top of the frame.
- Align Vertical Center – Put the clip right in the middle within the frame.
- Align Vertical Bottom – Put the clip against the bottom of the frame.
Align to Timeline allows users to move the selection to the top, the center, or the bottom part of the output frame. Align to Selection can be used to move the selected video clips based on an invisible bounding box that contains the selections.
Align to: Selection
- Align Horizontal Left – Put all the selected clips against the left edge of the frame.
- Align Horizontal Center – Horizontally center all the selected clips within the frame.
- Align Horizontal Right – Put all the selected clips against the right edge of the frame.
- Align Vertical Top – Put all the selected clips against the top of the frame.
- Align Vertical Center – Can be used to center all of the selected video clips between the top and bottom edges of the selection.
- Align Vertical Bottom – Put all the selected clips against the bottom of the frame.
Distribute Objects
Distribute Objects can help you easily array several videos or images within the same frame. To use this feature, just select three or more clips at once.
- Distribute Top – Use the top pixels of each clip to create even separation between the clips. The clips at the highest and lowest positions will remain in their position, the rest will move vertically.
- Distribute Vertically – Use the center–located pixels to evenly separate the selected clips in the Viewer. The clips at the highest and lowest positions will remain in their position, the rest will move vertically.
- Distribute Bottom – Create a separation between the clips by using the bottom pixels of each clip. The clips at the highest and lowest positions will remain in their position, the rest will move vertically.
- Distribute Left – Use the pixels on the left side of the clip to create even separation between clips. The clips at the highest and lowest positions will remain in their position, the rest will move vertically.
- Distribute Horizontally – Use the center–located pixels to create spacing between selected clips. The clips at the highest and lowest positions will remain in their position, the rest will move vertically.
- Distribute Right – Create even separation between clips by using the pixels on the right side. The clips at the highest and lowest positions will remain in their position, the rest will move vertically.
