For a generous period of time, I have used Final Cut Pro to rotate video clips and it is a great for basic modification and editing. However, I have to mention that there were occasional inconveniences with this app such as the storage. I once edited a clip for a longboarding montage, and one of the videos was recorded with a GoPro, but for some reason, it was in 9x16 aspect ratio. After rotating the video with Final Cut Pro and adding it to the montage I tried to save the final cut, but I have encountered an error regarding insufficient storage space on my device. I have a 2TB hard-drive with over 1.6 TB still free, so storage space was definitely not a problem. Lately, this issue was resolved by the developers, but i don't rotate video with Final Cut Pro any more.

Another wonderful video editor is Filmora Video Editor for Mac (or Filmora Video Editor for Windows). In my opinion, this one is the best software for video editing. It has a great, user-friendly interface, it runs smoothly on your computer without consuming excessive resources, you can edit virtually any format and it has some great tools for cropping or merging your videos and you have a wide range of effects and fresh filters that you can apply to your clip. You can even use it on your iPhone, as it is compatible with iOS mobile devices.
